A recent story about the Nokia N1 coming to the UK gave us all hope, but it was quickly quashed by Nokia.
However, it now turns out that the company’s only Android tablet to date will be arriving in the UK very soon.
Earlier this month, a third-party website called www.nokiashop.co.uk opened up requests for the Nokia N1 in the UK.
However, Nokia soon spoke out and revealed that the website was in no way connected to the brand officially.
“The online store referenced in the GSMArena.com report is not affiliated to nor authorised by Nokia,” explained a Nokia spokesperson at the time. “We are investigating and will take whatever actions are necessary to protect our brand.”
It turns out that the website wasn’t legitimately attached to Nokia, but it’s claims of a UK release for the N1 were true.
As such, the brand has now changed its name to www.colourfultech.co.uk following a complaint by Nokia, and will proceed to sell the device on UK shores.
“
He adds: “I am writing to confirm that a new company has been set up in the UK to sell the Nokia N1 and that we have a supply agreement which brings in the tablets through a distribution agreement with the Hong Kong distributor of Foxconn – the manufacturer and owner of the global distribution rights to the Nokia N1.”
The company says that stock “has already arrived in the UK”, and that the tablets “have been prepared for the European marktet”.
The Nokia N1 will be available in the UK from August 20, although pre-orders will be available from August 17.
The tablet will be sold for £219, including postage and delivery.
Update: A Nokia spokesperson provided TrustedReviews with the following statement:
“This
company is not authorised to sell products carrying the Nokia brand,
nor is it affiliated to or endorsed by Foxconn which manufactures and
distributes the N1. To date, the N1 has only been launched in China and
Taiwan and only distributors in those territories are being supplied by
Foxconn with products set up for those markets. Nokia continues to
investigate and will take whatever steps are necessary to protect our
brand.”

Nokia announced the N1 last year, although it only launched the slate in China and Taiwan initially.
It’s a svelte 6.9mm offering that runs on Google’s Android Lollipop OS.
Powering the tablet is a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor paired with 2GB of RAM.
There’s a 7.9-inch display on board, with a 1,536 x 2,048 pixel resolution.
Photography comes courtesy of an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a front-facing selfie shooter to boot.
There’s 32GB of storage on board, and a 5,300mAh battery that will keep your tablet juiced.
