SmartEgg is a universal remote worth shelling out for

If you’re fed up of figuring out which remote control goes with which device, help is at hand.
The SmartEgg is a universal remote control, and it’s shaped like an egg. Cracking.
It pairs with your phone over Bluetooth, and then can control any device that works over infrared.
You can set a timer to switch on or off certain electronics, even if you’re not in the house. It can make certain things happen under certain conditions, so it’ll mute the TV if your phone rings, if you like. And it supports iBeacon tech, so can automatically switch the TV on as you walk into the room. Egg-celent.
Adding a new remote is a doddle too. Just choose the device type and brand, and its smart algorithms will match the remote. Pair it, and you’re good to go.

It’s seeking $50,000 and has 44 days to go. If successful, it’ll ship in February.
