Smart Tracker 2 lets you listen in on what’s around it
The Smart Tracker 2 is a GPS tracker – attach to your bag, and it’ll tell you where it is. But it also has a few neat tricks up its sleeve…
For starters, the spy function. This lets you listen in on what’s around the tracker through your smartphone. Leave your bag at the table while you nip to the toilet in a restaurant, for example, and you’ll be able to hear what your friends say about you when you’re not there. We’d have to try it before we can say whether it’s any good, and we have some reservations as to how visible the tracker would have to be to pick up sound above background noise. But it’s a cool feature nonetheless.
So what else can it do? It can send you a notification when it shakes, which is handy if you don’t want your bag moved at all.

These aside, it’s a standard tracking device, albeit one that’s accurate to within 5m. It uses A-GPS, so can tell you its location even when underground, and it’s waterproof. It’ll stick to any metal object thanks to its magnetic properties, or you can use the buckle. The battery lasts up to 10 days before needing recharging too.
It’s passed its funding goal and will ship in October.
