New functionality sold seperately.
For those of you who had your curiosity aroused by our previous report that the new slim PSP might have a ten hour battery life, the newly posted images showing pages from the new portable’s manual, sourced from the blog of an individual known only as “0okm”, may disappoint.
While the efficiency of the battery use has improved, the rating has decreased from 1,800mAh to 1,200mAh. In real terms this means that the redesigned console will have the same 3-6 hours playtime as the current version. No doubt this is one of the areas that Sony has changed to accommodate the svelte new dimensions and weight.
Confirming our previous suspicions, the wireless LAN switch will be moving to the top of the console, where it can no longer cause any discomfort to the hand holding the machine. According to the manual the only truly new feature of the redesigned PSP, TV output, will require a cable that, the manual says, is “sold separately.” This being Sony, I very much doubt whether anyone will be surprised to hear that.
