Skype for Windows Phone Gets Official

Microsoft has announced that the Skype app for its Windows Phone platform has now moved out of beta and is available for free in the Windows Phone MarketPlace.

Following the announcement of a beta version of Skype at Mobile World Congress back in February, Microsoft has deemed the popular voice over IP (VOIP) app ready for general release.

As well as allowing free audio and video calls between Skype users, the app can also be used to call landlines and mobiles for a relativity low cost. You can also IM chat one-to-one or to in a group, while making a call.
