Skylanders SuperChargers announced with vehicle theme

Activision has announced Skylanders SuperChargers, the latest in the Skylanders franchise.
Introducing vehicles into the Skylanders franchise for the first time, Skylanders Superchargers will add another dimension of gameplay to the toys-to-life title.
But the vehicles aren’t limited to the roads in Skylanders SuperChargers. In fact, the title will introduce land, sea and air vehicles to the Skylanders world with a set of brand new toys.
These toys, unlike the fixed figures, are not tied to a base. Instead they have moving parts that allow your children to play with the vehicles much more easily than the characters themselves away from the console.
For example, the Super Car Hot Streak has moving wheels, while the the submarine has a rotatable propellor.
These new vehicles allow you to access various portions of the game, with brand new sea and sky based missions for you to encounter.

But to make the new vehicles even more exciting, Skylanders SuperChargers introduces a brand new class of Skylander too, known as SuperChargers. There are 20 new SuperChargers and each directly connects to a vehicle for powerful special vehicle-based abilities.
You can match any SuperCharger with any vehicle for some mid-adventure upgrading. Plus, any of your existing Skylanders’ characters can get involved in the vehicle action too. Although it’s only the SuperChargers that can modify the vehicles.
If you do pair a SuperCharger with its signature vehicle you’ll unlock a SuperCharged Combo. This unlocks a unique modification for the vehicle that gives it ultimate performance.
There’s a brand new adventure to play through with your new characters and vehicles, but we won’t spoil any of the story just yet.
In the Skylanders SuperChargers Starter Pack you’ll receive the car Hot Streak, its associated SuperCharger Spit Fire and returning favourite Stealth Elf.
There’s no word on pricing yet, but there’s good news for parents this year. The Skylanders SuperChargers game, new vehicles and characters are all compatible with existing portals, meaning there won’t be as big an up
Skylanders SuperChargers will launch on September 20 in the US and September 25 in the UK and the rest of Europe.
You’ll be able to pick it up on Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and iPad. There will also be separate yet complementary version released for Nintendo 3DS and Wii.
