Sky Sports arrives on Sky NOW TV on PAYG basis

Sky Sports will now be available from Sky’s internet TV service, Now TV, on a pay-as-you-go service starting today, the broadcasting giant has confirmed.

Now TV customers will now be able to access unlimited sports coverage from all six of the Sky Sports channels when they purchase the rather pricey 24-hour pass for £9.99.

Sky will be offering Sky Sports via its online TV viewing platform in an increased attempt to provide more flexible TV content. Customers will be able to subscribe to Sky Sports on a daily basis to watch specific matches or event, all offered on a non-contract basis.

With big sporting events lined up for this year, the addition of Sky Sports to the Now TV content line-up couldn’t have come at a more appropriate time. Customers can get instant access to a range of events including Barclays Premier League clashes, all ten Ashes Test matches live, The Masters Golfing Tournament and exclusive ATP tennis.

“The launch of Sky Sports of Now TV is a landmark moment for sports fans,” said Simon Creasey, Director of Now TV. “For the first time you can get great value, commitment-free access to Sky Sports, all at the touch of a button.”

Now TV is available on a range of devices such as desktop PCs and Macs, the Xbox 360, iPad Mini, iPhone 5 and selected Android devices like the Samsung Galaxy S3.

“So whether it’s a Grand Prix on your TV, a Premier League match on your iPad, or an Ashes Test on your PC, millions more people can now enjoy great live sport across the most popular internet-connected devices. And because you can start streaming in an instant, it’s perfect for those people who want the flexibility to dip in and out,” added Creasey.

The expanding Now TV content is complimented by the addition of 4oD to the Sky On Demand service and the expansion of the Sky Go app to include Sky Go Extra. The £5 per month addition to any Sky subscription allows users to download on-demand content to watch offline.

“Sky Sports has never offered a great choice of high-quality live sport and we’ve got our biggest ever summer ahead,” commented Sky Sport’s Managing Director, Barney Francis. “At the same time as we’re innovating on-screen, we’re always looking at new ways to make our content available to customers. Now TV is a great way for even more people to enjoy the best action from Sky Sports.”

Sky Sports is available on Now TV from today on a 24-hour day pass basis that costs £9.99.
