Sky Go hits Sony PS4
Sky Go has finally become available on the PS4 console through a new app.
TV from Sky is the name of that app, and it’s available to UK customers on the PlayStation Store right now as a free 60MB download.
The app gives you access to Sky Go on your Sony console. You’ll need a Sky iD and a Sky Go Extra to get watching on your PS4.
Essentially, then, the app lets you stream Sky’s live and on demand content to your console, including the Sky Sports and Sky Movies channels. You can also use the new TV from Sky app to download content to mobiles, tablets and laptops, depending on your Sky package.
Sky Go Extra is available to Sky customers for an extra £5 on top of their existing package. Those with Multiscreen packages get it for free.
Sky’s Now TV offering hit the PS4 and Xbox One back in July, but TV from Sky and its Sky Go capabilities offer a far more comprehensive package.
The impending availability of Sky Go on the PS4 was announced way back in May, but it’s taken a while for Sky to get it onto its main console. Sony is also planning on bringing the TV from Sky app to PS3 some time in 2015.
