Sky+ gets homepage overhaul and new Download Next feature

Sky has unveiled an all-new Homepage design for its Sky+ service, alongside a new feature that should make binge-watching your favourite shows a lot easier.
The new design adds a Top Picks section to the Sky+ Homepage which recommends shows based on your subscription picks.
But it’s the new ‘Download Next’ feature that should make the biggest difference for those who like to consume their TV shows in protracted viewing sessions.
Now, when you start watching an episode of a series, your Sky box will automatically start downloading the next episode, if one is available.

The feature will work with any on demand programme from Catch Up, Sky Box Sets, Top Picks, Kids or Sports, and an on-screen message will appear on the first playback of on demand content to let you know it’s active.
Sky already announced Download Next for its new Sky Q service, but now it seems the company is making efforts to show it hasn’t forgotten about Sky+ customers.
It should ensure you can now begin a binge-watching session without having to download episodes manually before-hand.
Other changes to the Sky+ interface will be included in the update, which starts rolling out today and should be available to all by the end of August.
Sky says more new features will follow in the near future.
