Singapore Airlines adds double bed to super-luxury First Class cabins

Singapore Airlines has detailed its first major overhaul of the First Class cabins on board its fleet of Airbus SE A380s since 2007 – and it’s enough to make you want to sell an organ for the chance to spend a few hours in one.
Okay, so maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration. But we’re sure there are a fair few aviation enthusiasts out there who would part ways with some of their most-prized possessions for the opportunity to experience the finest in-flight accommodation Singapore Airlines has to offer.
Every Airbus SE A380 in Singapore Airlines’ fleet will – eventually – be decked out with six First Class cabins, each complete with a double bed, an adjustable seat that’s been finished with leather upholstery from Italy’s Poltrona Frau and a vanity counter; however, there’s no word on exactly the suite will cost.
Business Class has also been treated to an upgrade
If you find yourself travelling in Business Class with your partner, you’ll have the option to drop the divider, so you can trade your meagre single bed for a more spacious double. Doing so will also gain you a little more space for in-air activities, if you catch our drift (wink, wink).
The new First Class cabins and Business Class beds will be available on select long-haul flights from December, according to Singapore Airlines. Those interested in reserving a ticket will need to visit the firm’s website nearer the time for details on the regions the retrofitted Airbus SE A380s will be operational in.
