Shuttle Announces Vista SFF PCs

All Aero capable.

After the official launch of Windows Vista last week it was inevitable that we’d get endless announcements about ‘Vista Ready’ PCs but I think this is one of the most interesting…

Small Form Factor specialist Shuttle is its source and it has proclaimed a trio of new Vista ready systems – all of which meet the requirements to run the OS’s much hyped Aero interface, despite their teeny dimensions.

Of the three, two actually carry the same specifications – the XPC G5 3200HC and XPC P2 3700GC – but use different cases (G5 top left, P2 top, right) so the choice is purely aesthetic. As for those specs they consist of an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 CPU, a gig of DDR2 RAM, an nVidia GeForce 7600 GT graphics card, a 250GB HDD, Gigabit Ethernet, a DVD writer and a whopping 22-in-1 memory card reader.

The last of the three is the XPC G2 3200BB and it takes things down a few notches by dropping to a Celeron D 352 CPU , 80GB HD and DVD ROM drive. It also swaps out the nVidia graphics for Intel’s integrated GMA950 but surprisingly Shuttle does insist this is Aero capable.

Vista Home Premium comes with the G5 and P2 and the officey roots of the G2 become apparently since it ships with Vista Business. All three are available now and can be individually configured here if you want to make any changes.

But why would you mess with such pretty faces…? Actually, shove in more RAM if you have the cash!
