Shadow Realms launched as brand new BioWare IP

BioWare has officially announced Shadow Realms, a brand new IP from its Austin studio.

The game was teased throughout the past month in a series of YouTube teasers, but it turned out to be quite a different game from what we originally expected.

Shadow Realms is an action RPG developed by BioWare Austin, specifically for PC gamers as a brand new IP.

It’s set in a modern fantasy world and features heroes that look like everyday people, supposedly just like you or I.

The gameplay is 4v1, where you will be pitted against an AI controlled Shadow Lord, of the titular nature.

As it’s a new BioWare game, there’s still a strong storyline element though. As its an online only title, you’ll see the story continuously updated, but still embedded in the multiplayer action.

BioWare’s idea is that you’ll never have the same exact experience in Shadow Realms thanks to its constantly evolving nature.

Building on that idea, Shadow Realms will be released episodically, with each chapter available to play by the community en masse with each release.

The Shadow Realms release date has been set for sometime late 2015, but the alpha will be availble to play at GamesCom.

The first closed alpha is coming next month for PC gamers, so sign up now if you want to take part.
