Samsung Q Killer Hits UK After All

Better late than never.

In a curious move Samsung’s i320 – which has been known about since February, touched down in Europe five months ago and reviewed by Sandra back in October – has finally, finally, finally made it to the UK.

Available from today, the world’s slimmest smartphone (11.5mm) has dispelled rumours I heard suggesting Samsung would skip a UK launch altogether in favour of releasing a beefed up version in the New Year. Of course this latter part may still be true, but here’s what we know for certain:

The i320, or SCH-i320 to give its full name, is completely unsullied from the model we saw earlier in the year. Not a single gram has been altered from its dainty weight (95g), not a centimetre lost from its screen (2.2in QVGA), not a megapixel escaped from its camera (1.3MP), not a megabyte lost from its internal memory (120MB) and not a connectivity option changed (Bluetooth, EDGE, microSD expansion slot). This latter element is not all good news however since wireless and 3G continue to be conspicuous by their absence.

Vodaphone is the network which has taken the adorable i320 to its (merciless) heart and as always price with be dependent on the level and length of contract. Whether you can bear to carry a phone in your pocket which ”the French” have had for five months though is an entirely different matter…
