Samsung Omnia Pro Leaks

High end consumer specs thrown at business smartphone. Nice.

The HTC Touch Pro2 may be the best Windows Mobile sliding Qwerty smartphone we’ve seen to date but could its reign be a rather short one…?

Official snaps and specs have leaked of the Samsung ‘B7610 Lourve’ which is tipped to become the ‘Omnia Pro’ at launch (see what Samsung did there, HTC?). Like the Touch Pro2, the B7610 throws in that love it/hate it Qwerty keyboard followed by a whole lot of indisputable love, love, love…

For a start we’ll see a 3.5in WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display (resistive only, since WM doesn’t support capacitive screens), HSDPA/HSUPA, WiFi, aGPS, a 5.1MP camera with autofocus and LED flash and – praise be – a 3.5mm headphone jack. On top of this there’s an FM tuner, native support for DivX, WMV and H.264 video playback, TV-out, 1GB of internal memory with a 32GB compatible microSD expansion slot, hefty 1500mAh battery and a monstrous 800MHz CPU to keep things racing along.

Yep, it doesn’t really matter what this handset is called because it looks rather lovely. Of course a lot will depend on whether Samsung can skin Windows Mobile as well as HTC has done with its latest version of TouchFLO but with the resources available to the Korean mega-corporate I suspect there’s a decent chance.

A September/October time frame is mooted for the B7610/Louvre/Omnia Pro which will soon place cats + pigeons in close proximity. I’ll stop now, that’s quite enough /’s.
