Samsung accidentally confirms the Galaxy S6 Edge+

Following months of rumours, leaks and rampant speculation, Samsung’s next flagship smartphone is now confirmed.

The South Korean tech giant has revealed the Galaxy S6 Edge+ on its French website, seemingly inadvertently (via Galaxy Club). The page has now been taken down.

The web page in question refers to an offer available from 21 August to 3 September, which gives S6 Edge+ buyers a pair of Level On Bluetooth headphones and 3 months of Google Play Music.

What’s more, there’s even a picture of the Galaxy S6 Edge+ included, before the handset has even been officially unveiled.

It’s expected that Samsung will make a proper announcement at its “Unpacked” event on 13 August.

We’re also likely to see the Galaxy Note 5 revealed at the event, a follow-on from last year’s Note 4 phablet.

The handsets are expected to go on sale on 21 August, which gels with the offer mentioned on the French web page.

What’s more, the fact that this is a French page means that the S6 Edge+ will be available to those in at least one European country.

What isn’t yet confirmed is the spec sheet for the S6 Edge+, although leaks have given us some idea of what to expect.

The S6 Edge+ is tipped to feature a custom-built Exynos 7420 chip, a 5.7in QHD display with curved edges, and Google’s Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
