Samsung has launched a new laptop that comes with a special feature that’s perfect for Netflix binge-watchers.
Today, Samsung announced the Samsung Notebook 7 Spin, a 2-in-1 laptop/tablet hybrid that boasts a Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) display and, most importantly, a new Video HDR mode.
That means it supports High Dynamic Range content, which is only offered by a few content providers right now, Netflix included. High Dynamic Range video has a greater range of light than conventional video. That means that you end up with darker darks and lighter lights.
Speaking at the launch, Gary Riding, SVP of Product Marketing at Samsung, said:
The Notebook 7 Spin is available in 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch variants, and features either an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor. There are three memory modules on offer (8/12/16GB), and 1TB of HDD storage. There’s also an option to upgrade the 15-inch model with 128GB of SSD storage.
The 13.3-inch model comes with integrated Intel HD Graphics 520. The 15.6-inch version, meanwhile, is available with a dedicated Nvidai GeForce 940MX GPU with 2GB of DDR3L graphic memory. All of the devices run on Windows 10 and feature a touch-sensitive display.
Samsung is putting its new Notebook 7 Spin on sale in the US starting on June 26, 2016. It will cost between $799.99 and $1,199.99, depending on the configuration you spring for.
