Samsung is testing curved Galaxy Note 6 – report

The Galaxy Note 6 might be a long way off, but Samsung is already testing different variants of the phone, apparently.
Dutch-language tech website GSM Helpdesk reports that Samsung is developing two versions of the Galaxy Note 6: a regular, flat model, and one with a curved display.
It’s likely the latter falls in line with previous ‘Edge’ handsets, like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.
The new report claims that both phones offer very similar specs, and will even have the same screen – a 5.8-inch Quad HD display.

That’s in contrast to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, which feature differently sized screens.
What’s interesting about the article is that it suggests that Samsung is only planning to launch one of these handsets, not both.
It also notes that the Galaxy Note 6 – in either variant – will feature a 4,000mAh battery, which is much larger than the 3,000mAh cell used in last year’s Galaxy Note 5.

Samsung hasn’t made any official mention of the Galaxy Note 6, so take this report with due caution.
However, rumours about the phone have been mounting up in recent months, suggesting that a release might not be too far off – some reports suggest a launch as soon as mid-July.
Nevertheless, we can only speculate about the phone until Samsung makes an official announcement, so stay tuned.
