Samsung Gear VR just got a lot better with a little help from Xbox

Microsoft has announced the Xbox Wireless Controller will soon support the Samsung Gear VR headset.
Just like its big brother the Oculus Rift, Gear VR owners will be able to utilize the Xbox One’s pad for gaming experiences.
First up, support is coming to Microsoft’s very-own Minecraft Gear VR Edition. Redmond is also promising support for Herobound, Spirit Champion, Omega Agent and End Space in the coming months.
Eventually, the functionality will come to all controller-supported Gear VR games.

Once those steps are complete, the devices can be connected via Bluetooth.
In an Xbox Wire post on Friday, Xbox accessories marketing boss Navin Kumar wrote: “As part of our ongoing commitment to enable gamers to play anywhere, on the devices they want, we announced last month the expansion of the Xbox Wireless ecosystem across Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.
“Today, we’re excited to announce that the new Xbox Wireless Controller, will soon be compatible with controller-enabled games on Samsung Gear VR starting with Minecraft: Gear VR Edition.”
