Samsung has officially unveiled the Samsung Xcover 2 ahead of the handset’s showing at MWC 2013, with the 4-inch device lining up as a rugged Android handset.
Set to be showcased during next month’s MWC 2013 conference, the IP67 certified Samsung Xcover 2 is protected against the elements with a dust and sand proof casing further bolstered by the ability to rise unscathed after 30 minutes submerged under up to one metre of water.
A handset designed for those with active, outdoor lifestyles, the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 is set to land the a pre-installed Cardio Trainer Pro workout app and GPS GLONASS which helps offer 20 per cent more accurate satellite based location details when exploring the wilderness.
Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 Specs
Running Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 plays host to a relatively middling collection of innards, with a 1GHz dual-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD up to 32GB.
Lining up at a relatively chunky 12mm thick and a bulky 148.5g in weight, the rugged Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 specs sheet sees a 4-inch WVGA TFT touchscreen display boast an 800 x 480p image resolution. Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and a 1,700mAh Lithium Ion battery also feature.
