Samsung Galaxy S7 wins Phone of the Year at #TrustedReviewsAwards 2016
It’s official – the Samsung Galaxy S7 has been named Phone of the Year at the TrustedReviews Awards 2016, marking the second year in a row the Galaxy series has claimed the title.
Samsung’s latest flagship clinched the win in what might be the most closely-contested category at the awards, beating the likes of the iPhone 7 Plus and OnePlus 3.
While the iPhone boasted outstanding performance, and the OnePlus offered top-end hardware at an affordable price, it was the S7’s combination of sleek design, a speedy user experience, and what might be the finest smartphone camera available that gave it the edge.

Mobile Editor, Max Parker, said: “Even though we’ve had a load of really impressive phones this year, the Samsung Galaxy S7 stands atop the pile.
“It’s a near perfect device that looks slick, performs like a champ, has an excellent camera and tops it off with nice extras like a water-resistant body, wireless charging an expandable storage.
“Samsung has well and truly produced a deserving winner here.”
It’s been a great year for smartphones, with HTC returning to form with the HTC 10 and the aforementioned OnePlus 3 offering a cheaper alternative to those looking for high-end performance.
All of which makes the S7’s win even more impressive, especially considering this is Samsung’s second year in a row winning in the smartphone category, following the Galaxy S6 claiming the crown last year.
The S7 Edge
The South Korean firm managed to craft perhaps the nicest-looking phone we’ve ever seen, especially in the case of the phone’s curvier counterpart: The Galaxy S7 Edge.
All eyes will be on Sammy in the coming months as it prepares to unveil the Galaxy S8, expected to debut at MWC 2017 in February. Here’s hoping the next Galaxy flagship will match this year’s instalment.
