The Samsung Galaxy S6 will launch next year with a QHD display and a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor in tow, latest reports have suggested.
Teased yesterday under the codename ‘Project Zero’, the Galaxy S6 has now been outed as being a major refresh over the existing Galaxy S5.
As well as adopting a Note 4 and LG G3 mimicking 2560 x 1440 pixel display,
The latest reports have surfaced through unnamed ‘insiders’ cited by SamMobile. Given the site’s hit and miss history of leaks, however, we’d suggest taking these reports with a sizeable pinch of salt for now. Although trends would suggest a QHD display and improved snapper will be on the S6’s hit-list, Samsung has yet to officially acknowledge the existence of such a device.
One of the most eagerly awaited upcoming smartphones, the Galaxy S6 will, according to the latest reports, pair the same 16-megapixel, OIS-enhanced rear-mounted camera as found on the Note 4 with a upgraded 5-megapixel snapper around front.
Another crossover taken from the Note 4 will be increased storage capacities. The S6 will reportedly ditch 16GB as the base storage option, instead opting for 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities.
Given Samsung’s insistence on launching multi-configuration options of its biggest phones, the Snapdragon 810 processor packing S6 will reportedly land alongside an Exynos loving handset.
This Samsung-chipped option is tipped to run a new Exynos 7420 processor, a 64-bit chip which pairs four Cortex-A53 cores with four Cortex-A57 cores.
Further features expected to be heading for the S6’s specs sheet include Google’s new Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and a new, in-house developed LTE modem.
Although the latest leaks have failed to point to when the Galaxy S6 will enter the realms of reality, previous reports have pointed to a MWC 2015 unveiling for the future iPhone 6 rival.
