Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge prices leak

One area the joint Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge announcement didn’t address was price, but that seems to have slipped out through other means.

Samsung announced two of its most exciting smartphones in years on Sunday evening in the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. However, the company failed to mention how much they’d cost, which has led to worries that Samsung’s new focus on premium design would come at a steep cost.

Those fears seem to have been proved well founded, according to SamMobile. The Samsung blog claims to have heard the official pricing straight from the mouths of Samsung officials at MWC 2015.

Apparently the Samsung Galaxy S6 will start at €699 for the 32GB model, moving on to €799 for the 64GB version and €899 for the 128GB model. Those are iPhone 6 prices, though it should be noted that the entry-level Galaxy offers 32GB of storage compared to the iPhone 6’s meagre 16GB.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is considerably more expensive again. It starts with the 32GB model at €849, while the 64GB version will be €949, and the 128GB model will be an eye-watering €1049. That’s more expensive than the iPhone 6 Plus range, with the 64GB Apple model costing €899.

It seems as if you’ll have to pay more than any other mainstream smartphone for Samsung’s dual-curved display on the Galaxy S6 Edge. Both Galaxy S6 phones are set to launch on April 10.
