Samsung Galaxy S5 tipped to feature brand new UI

Samsung could launch a brand new version of its TouchWiz UI with the Samsung Galaxy S5.

According to notorious tech tipster @evleaks, who has a very good track record thus far, has suggested that the South Korean electronics giant is experimenting with a new user interface.

“Samsung exploring new smartphone UI,” reads the Twitter post.

Of course, there’s been no official word from Samsung yet on any new TouchWiz version to launch this year, but with a heavily rumoured Galaxy S5 launch happening in February we might not have long to wait.

For all we know, Samsung could be in the process of completely reinventing its TouchWiz UI for its 2014 flagship, similar to what Apple did with iOS 7.

However, from these images, Samsung hasn’t introduced any major differences from the current UI.

The font is definitely thinner, and the icons and general feel of the screengrabs suggest Samsung may opt for something a little less cartoonish in 2014.

From the middle screen, it also looks like Samsung may introduce a HTC BlinkFeed rivalling home screen with the Galaxy S5.

The Lock Screen also seems to have more available at a glance, but we’ll have to wait until MWC to see if the screens have any truth to them.
