The Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime has just been certified by the South Korean version of the FCC.
Although Samsung has yet to officially announce the Galaxy S5 Prime, it has been the subject of a wealth of leaks for several months.
Now, the South Korean Radio Research Agency (RRA), the country’s version of the FCC, has certified three variants of the device for launch.
Sadly these aren’t international models, but instead they are one for each of the three major South Korean carriers.
The fact the S5 Prime has now received its Bluetooth certification in the country, we could see the high-end Samsung Galaxy S5 variant launch this month.
This June launch tallies with previous reports the S5 Prime could be officially unveiled this month.
However, rumour has it that the S5 Prime will be a South Korean limited edition, similar to the way Samsung launched the curved Samsung Galaxy Round.
The S5 Prime is tipped to come with a 5.2-inch QHD 2560 x 1440p resolution to match the LG G3. This would upgrade the current full 1080p HD 5.1-inch display of the S5.
Other specs mooted to be featured with the S5 Prime include the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 420 GPU.
Unlike the Galaxy S5 and LG G3, it could even come with a premium metal body akin to the HTC One M8.
A larger battery could also make the cut with the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime, but the exact capacity of the cell hasn’t been detailed.
Samsung recently announced the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom as a camera-centric version of the Galaxy S5, with a 20.7-megapixel camera and 10x optical zoom.
There is also expected to be a Samsung Galaxy S5 mini, but there’s not much information as to when that will launch.
