Samsung Galaxy S4 specs rumours rubbished by retailer

Following this morning’s latest claimed Samsung Galaxy S4 leaks, retailer Expansys has spoken out, rubbishing recent reports which speculated on potential Samsung Galaxy S4 specs.

Claiming to offer an insight into new, rendered Samsung Galaxy S4 images, the leaks saw repeated Twitter-based tipster evleaks suggest the Samsung Galaxy S4 would line-up larger than its predecessors with a 4.99-inch display featuring on a newly remodelled shell which was devoid of the customary physical home button.

With evleaks suggesting the latest Samsung Galaxy S4 images were early renders that offered an insight into the handset’s final design, online retailer Expansys has since revealed that the pictures were simply mocked up place holders it had created for its site.

“These images are renders used on the Expansys website as placeholder images for the S4 and are not official Samsung images,” the company told TechRadar.

The comment came after a spokesperson for the French arm of the online retailer Tweeted: “our webdesigner made them !!! Evleaks stole them and added his logo :S”

According to the earlier leaks, it had been suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S4 specs sheet would benefit from a 4.99-inch 1080p Full HD display, 13-megapixel camera and 2GB of RAM, all features widely tipped to hit the next-generation handset.

With further Samsung Galaxy S4 rumours suggesting that the handset will play host to an eight-core Exynos CPU alongside a revised form factor and the option of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage options, Samsung last week confirmed that a Samsung Galaxy S4 launch event will be held next week in New York City.

Set to be formally unveiled on March 14, the Samsung Galaxy S4 release date is widely expected to land the following month, with the Android 4.2 device mooted for arrival between April 15 and 22.
