Samsung Galaxy S3 Hits 10 Million Pre-orders

If there’s one phone that can challenge the iPhone 5 this year, it’s the Samsung Galaxy S3. And the latest figures show it’s not doing bad so far – Samsung’s “channel partners” have reportedly already pre-ordered more than 10 million units.

According to infamous leaker Eldar Murtazin, more than 10 million Samsung Galaxy S3 phones have been pre-ordered. Of course, these pre-orders do not appear to be made by the customers that’ll end up wielding the things, but “channel partners”, such as phone networks.

This information was leaked by editor in chief Murtazin on Twitter. He has previously leaked information about a number of Nokia phones, most notably the Nokia N8 of 2010.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has not yet been officially unveiled, but the anticipation it has mustered so far can only be compared to the next iPhone. It’s expected to feature the Exynos quad-core 1.5GHz CPU, have a 720p 4.7in display and run the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.

For clues as to what it may be like, take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Although a phone designed primarily to show off Android Ice Cream Sandwich, more than just a trace of its design is likely to be visible in the Samsung Galaxy S3.
