The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been officially unveiled at IFA 2013 following months of leaks and rumours.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been formally unveiled at IFA 2013, with the third-generation phablet device lining up with a new 5.7-inch Full HD display in tow.
The subject of numerous leaks and countless rumours in recent weeks, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been officially launched as part of Samsung’s IFA based Mobile Unpacked conference and will hit retailers later this year as the stylus-hosting big brother of the Samsung Galaxy S4.
It comes in three colours, pink black and white, and there are flip covers available that offer a wider variety of shades. The phone’s rear has also been completely redesigned. Rather than featuring glossy plastic, it’s a textured material that’s designed to give the warm touch of leather. It is not leather, however.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Features
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is lining up as something of a powerhouse of the smartphone scene. With a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and 3GB of RAM the phone is significantly more powerful than the UK version of the Samsung Galaxy S4. That phone has a 1.9GHz processor and 2GB of RAM.
Sticking closer to the Galaxy S4 in other areas, the Galaxy Note 3 has a 13-megapixel camera with an LED flash and a 1080p Super AMOLED display. However, one big impreovement is that it can record video at 4K resolution rather than mere 1080p
The Galaxy Note 3 also has a microSD memory card slot that lives under its removable plastic battery cover.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 S-Pen
Some of the most important changes in the Note 3 relate to the software used by the S-Pen, the intellgent stylus that’s the key selling point of the Note series.
Air Command is a little control menu that lets you control navigation throughout the Note 3 much more effectively than before. We’ll be back with a closer look at the new S-Pen software soon.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Release Date and Price
The Galaxy Note 3 will start shipping in key markets on 25 September, before getting a full worldwide in October. We’ll be back with pricing details as they’re revealed by the UK networks.
