Samsung Galaxy Note 2 specs leak ahead of IFA unveiling

Ahead of the device’s expected IFA unveiling later this week, the full Samsung Galaxy Note 2 specs have leaked online, seemingly confirming the handset’s new 5.5-inch form factor.

Making a premature appearance courtesy of the Korean company’s national daily publication, the Seoul Newspaper, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 specs have appeared just hours before the oversized smartphone’s expected unveiling during the latest Berlin based Samsung Mobile Unpacked event.

With a flurry of Samsung Galaxy Note 2 rumours suggesting the device will increase in size from the original model’s 5.3-inch form factor, the latest leaks appear to confirm the handset’s transition to a new, pocket-bulging 5.5-inches, with the smartphone turn tablet hybrid said to be heading for market with a new 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1280 x 720p HD resolution in tow.

Alongside the Note 2’s new expansive display, latest reports have suggested the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 sibling will play host to the same 1.4GHz quad-core processor as its full-sized tablet counterpart.  The option of 16GB or 32GB worth of internal storage is also set to be made available.

With a selection of conflicting pre-release reports suggesting the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 would land with either Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS or the newer, Google Nexus 7 launched, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, the Seoul Newspaper reports that Jelly Bean has been given the nod as Samsung bids to keep its latest devices as up-to-date as possible.

Although far from confirmed, the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 2 leaks have suggested the as yet unconfirmed handset will feature a new form factor, slimmer than that found on the previous model. An 8-megapixel rear-mounted camera and a second, forward-facing, snapper are also reportedly on the cards.

Although the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 2 reports have failed to offer an image of the widely expected device, further rumours have suggested the stylus packing powerhouse will sport a light grey finish, a colour scheme that is set to be introduced to the Samsung Galaxy S3 as the blue and white launch models of the quad-core iPhone 5 rival are further expanded beyond the red and rumoured black handset offerings.
