Samsung Galaxy Camera refresh on the horizon

A Samsung Galaxy Camera refresh could be on the horizon as a new version has just received Bluetooth certification.

Samsung is rumoured to be working on the next-generation of its Samsung Galaxy Camera, with that rumours now being supported with a Bluetooth certification for a model number EK-GN100 device appearing online.

The Samsung Galaxy Camera with the model number EK-GN100 appeared on the Bluetooth SIG, but any further information for the device is still unknown.

Rumoured to play host to a number of updates over the current Samsung Galaxy Camera, what those will be haven’t been revealed.

Samsung Galaxy Camera Features
Currently the Samsung Galaxy Camera packs a 16.1-megapixel 1/2.3-inch BSI CMOS sensor with 21x optical zoom. It packs TTL Auto Focus functionality

It is capable of capturing Full 1080p HD movies at 30fps, which can be viewed on its 4.8-inch 1290 x 720p HD Super Clear LCD display.

Marketed as the “only truly connected camera in the world”, it packs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity. It allows users to shoot and share using the Share Shot functionality, connecting directly with up to five other Wi-Fi enabled devices.

The Samsung Galaxy Camera has a 1.4GHz quad-core processor with 4GB of internal memory, bolsted by a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 64GB in size.

Offering its users a 1650mAh battery, the Samsung Galaxy Camera has a variety of Smart Modes that automatically adjust the settings according to the environment. Users can also apply a range of filters to their still shots, such as vintage, monotone, comic or gothic noir, directly from within the camera’s menus.

Although Samsung has yet to offer any details on its second generation Samsung Galaxy Camera, it could reveal some details on the device at its press event on June 20. Samsung will unveil new Android and Windows Phone devices at the London event that takes place at 2pm UK at Earls Court.
