The Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 has been officially unveiled as one of a fleet of four new budget Android handsets from the Korean manufacturer.
With Samsung still intent to offer smartphones for all screen sizes and price points, the Galaxy S5 maker has introduced four new devices, including the Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 and Samsung Galaxy Young 2, to its catalogue.
Although the company has yet to date or price any of the new arrivals for launch, based on the phones’ specs sheets and respective predecessors, we can’t see any of them putting too much strain on your wallet.
With the handset set to be made available in two guises, a 3G option and a 4G LTE offering, the 3G Ace 4 will feature a 1GHz dual-core processor and 1500mAh battery, while the 4G option will pair a 1.2GHz dual-core chip with a large 1850mAh power supply.
Largest of the four new offerings is the 4.5-inch Samsung Galaxy Core II. The second Core handset is a dual-SIM device that largely echoes the Ace 4’s spec with a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU and 5-megapixel rear-mounted camera joined by a 2000mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy Young 2 and Samsung Galaxy Star 2 are remarkably similar devices, begging the question of the need for both of them.
The two handsets each feature 3.5-inch HVGA display, 1GHz single-core processor and 1300mAh battery, with the Star 2’s lowly 2-megapixel camera only marginally trumped by the Young 2’s 3-megapixel snapper.
All four of the new devices will run Google’s Android OS skinned with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and will be available in both black and white colour schemes when they touch down later this year.
