The Samsung Galaxy A8 might not be official just yet, but it may as well be considering the amount of leaks we’ve seen regarding the handset thus far.
Adding further fuel to the fire is a fresh appearance from the device over at the US Federal Communications Commission.
All devices sold in the USA have to get certification at the telecom agency, and the much-rumoured Galaxy A8 is seemingly no different.
The timing gels well with last week’s leak, which saw the Galaxy A8 turn up at China’s TENAA, the country’s FCC equivalent.
What’s more, we also saw photos of what appeared to be the handset turn up last week too.
The snaps didn’t reveal much, other than the fact that the A8 looks set to be follow the Galaxy S6 in terms of design, rather than the distinctive A-series aesthetic we’ve seen so far.

Unfortunately, the FCC filing is equally unhelpful when it comes to specs.
However, previous leaks have pointed to a 5.7-inch Full HD AMOLED display and a fingerprint sensor in the home button.
It’s also expected that the Galaxy A8 will carry a Snapdragon 615 processor – only launched this February – with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage bringing up the rear.
What’s exciting about the A8 is that it’ll seemingly continue Samsung’s slim-down streak for smartphones. Rumours point to a near-invisible 5.94mm profile, with a weight of 142g.
Fortunately, Samsung is also tipped to pack a 3,050mAh battery inside, so at least the company might not skimp on handset power to keep the phone’s chassis svelte.
The unknown quantity that still evades us, however, is the exact release date, which we’ve heard very little about.
