Samsung’s folding super-tablet makes the iPad Pro look boring

Samsung has patented a quirky folding tablet that could revolutionise the way you work on the move, a new report reveals.

According to Patently Mobile, Samsung has been awarded a design patent which details a foldable tablet equipped with a built-in keyboard and kickstand. The device has three foldable segments which once opened presumably reveal a large screen and a built-in keyboard.

The image doesn’t make it clear how exactly the keyboard will be used, or even how it will be locked into place. Moreover, there’s no information on how Samsung intends to make the tablet fold. And since this is only a design patent, we’re not entirely sure which materials the product will be built from.

But despite the patent, there’s no guarantee this product will ever see the light of day.

Samsung did have plans for a foldable phone, but has reportedly shelved the scheme known as ‘Project Valley’. Instead, the phone giant has decided to spend more time perfecting the tech behind the foldable screens to make sure they’re ready for release. Unfortunately, a foldable device still feels a little bit more like a dream than a reality – for now, at least. Don’t hold your breath, folks.
