Samsung F8500 LED Smart TV announced

Samsung has unveiled its Samsung F8500 LED Smart TV as part of its new range of Smart TVs, combining more enhanced smart functions alongside aesthetically pleasing designs.

The Samsung F8500 LED is among the first Samsung Smart TVs to include a quad-core processor for responsive apps and online services.

“We are really excited about our new premium Smart TV products,” said Robert King, Vice President of Consumer Electronics at Samsung Electronic UK and Ireland. “Every year our customers’ expectations get higher and higher and we’re proud to be in a position to deliver exactly what they are looking for and more in terms of quality, functionality, features and sophisticated design.”

Samsung F8500 LED Smart TV Features

Created from a single piece of aluminum the Samsung F8500 LED has a naturally curved aluminum back and a retractable camera so as not to detract from the seamless design.

The Samsung F8500 LED is one of the first in Samsung’s Smart TV line to offer a quad-core processor, making switching between apps, online services and live TV faster and more responsive.

The 55-inch LCD screen with ultra-slim bezels offers an Intelligent Viewing feature that automatically adjusts picture quality according to the content showing at any particular time.

A completely redesigned Samsung Smart Hub takes centre stage on the Samsung F8500 LED, with five panels that update with content personalised to the user’s viewing habits. An upgraded UI and preview thumbnails make the whole aesthetic of the 2013 Smart Hub much more user-friendly.

The upgraded Smart Hub still utilises the Motion Control features, with the swiping, pinching and flipping motions all enhanced for the new Smart TV series. S-Recommendation is another new feature for the Samsung F8500, allowing users to use voice commands to interact with their Smart TV content.

To keep the brand new Smart TV model current, Samsung has included its modular Smart Evolution system where the user can upgrade the SoC whenever they so wish. With the Samsung F8500 Plasma Smart TV revealed at CES, it isn’t hard to see how the two TVs compare on spec, with the slimmer, less-bezeled LED counterpart just edging past its Plasma brother in the looks department.

Samsung F8500 LED Smart TV Price and Release Date

As of yet there is no firm Samsung F8500 LED release date, with Samsung simply stating it will be available sometime in the first half of 2013.

The Samsung F8500 price tag will be set at the individual retailers’ discretion.
