Samsung has confirmed it is considering the release of an upgraded Galaxy Note 7 handset with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage.
However, sadly for spec-chasers in the west, the variant is unlikely to be on sale outside of China.
During the run up to launch, reports Samsung would be fitting the phablet with the additional RAM and storage, so disappointed some with the 4GB and 64GB top configuration.
However, it turns out those rumours were true, only without the ability for other territories to obtain the upgraded phone.

Samsung has said the variant is China-only due to the propensity of Chinese manufacturers to push the higher specs to consumers.
Speaking to the press in Korea (via 9to5 Google) mobile head Koh Ding Jin said: “It is true that we are reviewing the rollout of a new tablet with 128 gigabyte built-in memory in China because Chinese companies are aggressively doing marketing with high-capacity memory.”
Koh said he would consider how much this release would annoy customers and partners in other markets before pushing ahead with the launch.
