Samsung accidentally confirms Samsung Galaxy S6 Active

Samsung has accidentally let slip confirmation of the Galaxy S6 Active’s existence.
Recent days have seen a couple of images leaking onto the internet of Samsung’s forthcoming ruggedised flagship offshoot, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active.
This has followed months of rumours surrounding the Galaxy S6 Active’s specs, which appear to be largely in keeping with the Samsung Galaxy S6 itself.
The latest leak surrounding this phone comes from Samsung itself, via Android Central. Over on the Samsung US website, the Galaxy S6 Active is clearly listed among the devices eligible for the company’s America-only Samsung Points scheme.
Of course, the fact that the chart lists the release date of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active as April 10 is a little perplexing, but we’re still seeing this as a sign that an official launch is imminent.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active will apparently resemble the Samsung Galaxy S6 internally, with a 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, a custom Exynos CPU, and a stellar 16-megapixel camera.

However, on the outside it will be considerably tougher, with a reinforced body and a return to the range of a high water and dust resistance rating. The S6 Active will also sport tougher physical buttons on the front.
Another expected spec change will see the Galaxy S6’s puny 2,600mAh battery replaced by a meaty 3,500mAh example, as well as the return of the microSD slot that skipped this year’s dolled up flagship.
