Rumoured Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus Specs and Images Appear

Samsung’s been dropping plenty of hints concerning the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 just recently, but reports are also doing the rounds concerning the so-called Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus. It seems it’s going to be a lot more than a modest revamp.

According to Chilean operator VTR, the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus will be a major overhaul of the hugely popular Samsung Galaxy S2. In fact, it looks like a brand new device to us.

It’ll apparently feature 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display – that’s up from 4.3-inches in the original device.

It seems the processor has received a bit of a tweak too. Though it’ll apparently still be Samsung’s custom Exynos chip, it’ll be clocked at 1.5GHz – that’s a not inconsiderable increase of 300MHz.

We can expect Android Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box too, according to the report.

The rest of the specs look pretty similar, with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and an 8-megapixel camera.

As for how the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus will look – well, you can see that it’s closer to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus than the original Samsung Galaxy S2. At least, that’s the case from the front and rear. End-on the device would appear to be quite square and chunky – dare we say iPhone-esque?

Yes, we dare.
