Rome Total War launching on iPad – seriously

Rome: Total War, one of the most critically acclaimed PC strategy games of all time, is coming to iPad. Seriously.

Creative Assembly announced the surprising news earlier today, noting that the entire experience is coming to iPad “without compromise.”

Rome: Total War was quite a demanding little game when it launched back in 2004, so we’re curious to see how it performs on a modern day tablet device.

The entire game will be playable from the comfort of a touchscreen, turning a fully-fledged PC title into one you can play in bed. Sounds good to us.

All 11 factions will be playable across a selection of modes that “take advantage of the iPad’s high-resolution Retina screen”.

It will be playable on iPad Air and iPad Mini 2 models or higher. Creative Assembly is yet to announce a release date.
