This driverless Rolls-Royce is the future of luxury transport
Concept cars are, well, concepts. They’re not “real” in the sense that my dodgy, decade-old Vauxhall Tigra is real. But that doesn’t mean concept cars can’t get us seriously excited for the future.
Rolls-Royce has unveiled the future of autonomous driving with its new Vision Next 100 103EX concept car. The luxury driverless motor was revealed at event in London yesterday, and is the first pure concept Rolls-Royce has ever produced in its 105-year history.
“Today, Rolls-Royce, the world’s leading luxury brand, has defined the future of luxury mobility,” said Torsten Muller-Otvos, CEO of Rolls-Royce, who said that the car is “an exquisite fusion of technology, design and hallmark Rolls-Royce craftsmanship”.
Speaking at the launch, Giles Taylor, Director of Design at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, said:
“With the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100, we were mindful not to dwell on the past. We wanted to be as innovative as possible and, at the same time, transcend the design history of the marquee.”
