Rocket League getting PS4 and Xbox One retail release

Following Psyonix developer Jeremy Dunham’s tease last week, 505 Games has announced that Rocket League is to get a full retail release on both PS4 and Xbox One.
The publisher has agreed an exclusive worldwide publishing deal with Rocket League developer Psyonix to bring the game to retail stores in Q3 2016.
‘Rocket league: Collector’s Edition’ will include all three DLC packs: Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle-Cars, and Chaos Run as well as to-be-announced retail-exclusive bonuses.
Rocket League has proved a hugely successful digital release. Initially launching as part of the PS Plus service on PlayStation 4 and on PC last July, and later on Xbox One this February, the game has sold over 4 million units and has an active community of over 12 million players.
Ian Howe, President of 505 Games said “We are honoured and excited to help Psyonix bring Rocket League: Collector’s Edition to a whole new audience. As big as Rocket League has become, both 505 Games and Psyonix believe that there is still a significant untapped segment of the gaming audience who become aware of products through physical retail.”
Dave Hagewood, CEO and Studio Director of Psyonix said “505 Games are a proven entity in taking digital brands like Terraria and PAYDAY, and breaking them out through their long-established retail partnerships and on-the-ground expertise to a whole new consumer-base worldwide.”
