Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4 release date confirmed, with PSVR story DLC

Rise of the Tomb Raider will launch on PS4 on 11 October, complete with brand-new DLC and a special art book, too.
The news was confirmed in a press release, detailing all the new content coming with the launch.
Blood Ties, the new story chapter coming to PS4, will support PlayStation VR, creating a brand-new experience for Lara Croft. The chapter “beckons players to explore Croft Manor in a new story mode; then defend it against a zombie invasion in ‘Lara’s Nightmare’” the press release reads.
“When Lara’s uncle contests ownership of the Manor, Lara must explore the estate to find proof that she is the rightful heir, or lose her birthright and father’s secrets for good. Players can then test their zombie-killing skills in the replayable ‘Lara’s Nightmare’ mode: a haunted Croft Manor where players have new challenges and must rid the Manor of an evil presence.”

PSVR support allows players to explore Croft Manor in first person, creating an incredibly immersive experience.
A new co-op addition to Endurance will allow players to explore and raid tombs together. The game is also littered with homages to classic Tomb Raider games to celebrate the series’ 20-year anniversary.
Developer partner Nixxes Software has revised the cold-weather outfit and Hailstorm pistol from Tomb Raider 3. A special Lara card pack will also unlock five classic Lara models with which to play the game, including the original 1996 model.
There’s also a new “Extreme Survivor” difficulty setting, at the request of die-hard fans, and all previously released DLC will come in with the PS4 version.
With the exception of the VR support for Blood Ties, all new content released with the PS4 version will also be available for Xbox One and PC. Current Xbox One and PC season-pass owners will receive the content for free, and moving forward the existing season pass will be updated to include the new content. The PS4 will not require a season pass, since all of the content is included at launch.
