Return of the Cartridge: Coleco to debut new console in February
If you miss the days of forcefully thwacking cartridges into video game consoles, then 2016 might be the year for you.
Coleco, the company behind the 1982 ColecoVision, one of the first home gaming consoles, is planning to unleash a new machine in February 2016.
The Coleco Chameleon, which will bring brand new 8-, 16-, and 32-bit games to the masses, will go on show at the New York Toy Fair.
Little is known about the device right now, but the launch is also likely to see plenty of the modern retro classics (excuse the oxymoron) become available in cartridge form for the first time.
Could we be on the verge of a vinyl-style cartridge game revival? Would you like to add a Minecraft cartridge to your retro collection?
