Republican Convention 2016 Live Stream: How to watch the RNC in Cleveland online

The Republican National Convention 2016 kicks off in Cleveland, Ohio, on Monday, with the eyes of the world expected to tune in for Donald Trump’s coronation as the party’s nominee for the 2016 Presidential Election.

The event, from the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Quicken Loans Arena, will run throughout the week, with the GOP setting out its election agenda from 1PM ET on Monday.

Thankfully, if you live in the United States, there are plenty of ways to keep up with the action online if you’re away from the wall-to-wall coverage on your television set.

Here are a few ways that you can keep abreast of TrumpCon 2016 gavel-to-gavel via your connected devices.

RNC app – Available for iOS and Android, the Convention’s official app will be streaming the event wire-to-wire, with help from a Google Cardboard headset. The stream will be provided by Google and will even provide 360-degree video coverage. Within the app, you’ll also find the schedule of speakers and a map of the arena.

Google – Despite criticism from anti-Trump factions, Google is going ahead with its plans to live-stream the event on a laptop or desktop PC. You can go to youtube.com/gopconvention to jump in on the coverage. Users will also be able to search “Republican National Convention” to view a stream in the browser. Alongside the stream you’ll see schedules and a section of social media activity.

You can also see the stream right here:

Facebook – Facebook is also getting in on the act, via its Facebook Live streaming platform. The company is streaming speeches, offering 360-degree video and also providing access to many of the major players via Facebook Live.

Twitch – Twitch is taking a break from gaming to bring you some hot right-wing politics action. The service is also including a Host Mode to encourage users to gather communities around a channels video to enable “productive and valuable political discussion.”

Twitter – Twitter appears to be going all-in on live-streaming major world and sports events. Following its Wimbledon exploits, the company is carrying the CBS News live stream, allowing users to post alongside the video with the hashtag #RNCinCLE.

Some of the more conventional news services offering full coverage of the event include C-SPAN, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News.

You can see the schedule of speakers here. At 7pm ET, Willie Robertson from Duck Dynasty is speaking, while later this evening prospective First Lady Melania Trump will take to the stage.
