Uber is set to launch a fully-fledged delivery service later this year, according to reports on Friday.
The firm has been experimenting for the last year and now Re/code says the ride-sharing service is ready to confirm dozens of partnerships with major retailers.
The program would provide an “express delivery option” for shopping websites and apps allowing same-day delivery.
The company is planning on announcing the expansion by early October, the report said.
Leaked training documents earlier this year revealed the Uber Merchant Delivery pilot program with potentially 400 brands reportedly in talks with Uber.
Soon the firm could allow its passenger drivers to double up as delivery drivers through the same app. Right now those driving testing the service are believed to be using a different app.
Uber continues to branch out from the bread-and-butter ride-sharing service, following an aggressive global expansion.
The UberRUSH courier service is being trialed in New York, while UberEats is delivering food in some cities.
