Report: The curved iPhone you’re waiting for will arrive in 2017

New reports emanating from Japan have added weight to speculation Apple has big things in store for the 2017 iPhone 8 release.
Nikkei sources say there’ll be three variants of the handset, including one with a display curved at both edges – just like the Samsung Galaxy S Edge series.
Although the report didn’t mention OLED specifically, a curved display would likely require the technology as a prerequisite.
“There will be a 4.7-inch model, another that will be 5.5-inches and a premium handset that will be either 5.5-inches or larger equipped with a screen bent on the two sides,” the source said.

The standard 4.7- and 5.5-inch models will retain flat screens according to the report.
According to another source quoted by the report, Apple may even use Samsung as its supplier for the curved displays.
Other reports have suggested Apple will go for a model totally covered in sapphire glass and a flush home button.
Would this handset sate your desire for a special iPhone in 2017? Is a curved display, coming a couple of years after Samsung debuted such tech too little too late?
