Nokia will release three or four new Android devices by the end of the year according to Nokia executive Mike Wang, president of the joint management team in China.
The news comes via a report from Android Authority, which states the devices will be split between smartphones and tablets, and that the new products could be launched in Q4 2016.
However, the launch could be pushed to 2017 depending on ‘testing and development’, with Nokia expected to make an announcement before the end of the year.

The company, now owned by Finish firm HMD, which is made up of ex-Nokia and ex-Microsoft employees, will hand over manufacturing of the new devices to Foxconn.

The rumour suggests the smartphones will run Android 7.0 Nougat, and feature 5.2 and 5.5-inch QHD OLED screens, a Snapdragon 820 processor, and a 22.6MP camera.
Water and dust resistance is also a rumoured feature, while the phones are said to come with a fully metal body. None of this has been confirmed, however.
As the report notes, HMD is also expected to launch new Nokia ‘feature phones’, as well as the rumoured high-end smartphones.
Whether the new devices will be enough to revive Nokia’s fortunes remains to be seen, but we like what we’re hearing at this point and we’re intrigued to see where it leads.
