This live action first-person zombie shooter is the best thing you’ll see all day

There’s an endless glut of funny YouTube clips out there, but truly epic videos are a rare beast indeed.
That’s why everyone’s going crazy over a new video that sees strangers on the internet conscripted into a real-world survival horror game, all live on camera.
And the result was seriously amazing:

The video comes courtesy of a UK-based film company called Realm Pictures.
The company’s offices are actually based in the church you see in the video, including the mausoleum where the level begins.
A huge effort went into making the experience as realistic as possible.
To that end, there was an audio guy to reactively play game noises from a soundboard, a video guy in charge of the HUD, and even a dedicated voice actor for the main character.
All these effects were combined on one main computer, and then streamed to random strangers on the internet over different live video chat services.
“You get to see live the reaction of the person on Chatroulette or on Skype or on Omegle freaking out when they realise that they’re in control of this space warrior in a tomb full of zombies,” says David Reynolds, Creative Director at Realm Pictures. “It’s pretty cool fun.”

Maybe we need to spend more time on Chatroulette after all…
