PC gamers can download cult classic Beyond Good and Evil for free – but not for long

PC gamers can download the original Beyond Good and Evil for free right now, but the Ubisoft classic won’t be available for nought for long.
The freebie is part of an ongoing promotion from the games developer which sees it offering a new title every month to download for free in celebration of its 30th anniversary.
To grab the 2003 title, all you need to do is create a free Uplay account over at the UBI30 landing page. The lone caveat is that each game is only gratis for a month, but the title is yours to keep once you download it.

Announcing its latest free download, Ubisoft said: “Beyond Good and Evil is a unique game in Ubisoft history: created by Michel Ancel, this game is the most beloved game of our communities”.
While the game wasn’t an immediate success for the company, it has since evolved into something of a cult classic, with its graphics in particular earning praise for their originality.
A sequel was first confirmed back in 2010 and, more recently, Ubisoft revealed that Michel Ancel was “currently working with the Ubisoft Montpellier studio on a new Beyond Good and Evil Game” – giving fans hope that the follow-up will surface some time next year.
Even if you’re not a Beyond Good and Evil devotee, it’s still well worth checking out Ubisoft’s free download scheme.
Previous highlights have included Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and The Crew, with the next free title set to be unveiled in mid-November.
Sure, they’re old, but free games are still free games, right?
