Qimini Deuce is a portable wireless charger
The Qimini Deuce is the follow-up to last year’s Qimini Pocket – it’s a portable wireless charger that means your phone battery won’t die when you’re out and about.
If you missed the Qimini Pocket last year, it was a wireless charger that let you juice up by placing your phone on it. But there was one drawback – it didn’t have its own battery, so you had to keep it plugged into a USB socket.
But now its successor, the Qimini Deuce, is here. It boasts a 2,000mAh battery so you can charge up wherever you are. Like the Pocket, it’s a slim plate that acts as a coaster for your phone.
The USB cable tucks away using a magnet when not in use, so it looks nice and neat. And when you do plug it into a USB socket, it knows when your phone is charged and starts charging itself.
The battery gives your mobile an extra 50 per cent battery life. And it charges your phone as fast as if it was plugged into a USB cable. So there’s no hanging around for hours waiting for it to reach full charge.
It’ll charge devices like the
Nexus 5
,
Lumia 930
and
LG G3
on their own, but other handsets may need a little help. Using a Qi sticker, you can charge the
Samsung Galaxy S4
and
S5
, and
Galaxy Note 3
, while the
iPhone 5
,
5S
and
5C
will need a Qi case.
It’s seeking crowdfunding now over on
Kickstarter
, with the first units executed to ship in February next year.
