PS Vita TV: Sony releases list of initial compatible games
Sony has released an initial list of compatible games and software packages for its newly announced PS Vita TV microconsole.
The PS Vita TV is a microconsole that lets you play PS Vita and PSP titles on the big screen in your living room, and now Sony has teased gamers with a list of the first compatible titles for the device.
According to Sony, you’ll be able to play games like Lumines, Rayman Origins, Ratchet & Clank: QForce and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 using a DualShock 3 controller on your TV.
Other titles to note include Spelunker collection, Earth Defence Force 3, Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster, Dead or Alive 5 and Soul Sacrifice Delta.
PS Vita TV Features
The PS Vita TV is a microconsole that will not only go head to head with the likes of the Ouya, it will also take on Sky’s NOW TV box, Apple TV and Google Chromecast due to its music and video streaming capabilities.
Measuring up at just 6cm x 10cm, the PS Vita TV box will turn portable titles into a more console-like experience by allowing you to play PS Vita and PSP games on a big screen.
You can connect a PS3 DualShock 3 controller to the device, but one of its major features is that it can offer PS4 Remote Play functionality.
The PS Vita TV can be used to stream content from the PS4 to TVs in different rooms around the home, so you don’t have to worry about moving the console and rewiring every time you fancy a change in scenery.
Arriving in Japan on November 14, the day before the PS4 hits American markets, the PS Vita TV will be priced at 9,480 yen (£61) or 9,954 yen (£64) with tax. You could also opt for the 14,980 yen bundle that comes with a DualShock 3 controller and 8GB memory card.
A specific date for the global launch of the PS Vita TV has yet to be announced.
