Google Nexus 4 sales hit eBay following launch day sell out

After this week’s Google Nexus 4 release date saw stocks of the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean handset sell out within 30 minutes, early adopters have started selling their new Samsung Galaxy S3 rivals on eBay for considerable profits.

Having been made available for sale on Tuesday, November 13, high demand saw stocks of the LG manufactured handset quickly depleted with demand led largely by the device’s high-end specs and the wallet friendly Google Nexus 4 price tag. With Google now letting consumers register interest in future stocks of the device, Google Nexus 4 prices have been set at £239 for the 8GB model and £279 for the 16GB edition.

Somewhat unsurprisingly given the high demand for the device, those lucky enough to be able to get their hands on a Google Nexus 4 have turned their latest Google branded smartphones over to eBay, with many making considerable profits from their Nexus handsets.

At the time of writing, one 16GB Nexus 4 is poised to sell for £475 plus £20 postage – well over £200 above Google’s list price. And one hopeful seller is looking to start the bidding on an 8GB model at £600 (as yet, he or she has received no bids).

The Google Nexus 10, Google’s first 10-inch Android tablet, also went on sale yesterday, and currently is still in stock at the Google Play store. A 16GB model costs £319, significantly less than the 16GB iPad 4 – and now the Nexus 4, apparently.
